Dr. Wachsman, a neurosurgeon and attorney, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He held eight medical licenses and seven legal licenses around the country, with both a medical and legal license in the state of New York. For over twenty years, Dr. Wachsman successfully tried medical malpractice cases across the United States. In 2021, Dr. Wachsman passed away.

Dr. Wachsman was President of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys for 18 years, and was senior partner in the Law Offices of Harvey F. Wachsman, MD, JD LLP.

Dr. Wachsman was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York, and Chairman of the Health Sciences and Hospital Committee of the SUNY Board.

Dr. Wachsman was an outspoken advocate for the protection of the public. From 1977 he appeared on numerous television and radio programs, writing and lecturing frequently on issues related to medical malpractice and public health and safety. He was the author of the book entitled: “Lethal Medicine: the Epidemic of Medical Malpractice in America,” and co-author of six legal treatises, Editions I and II, entitled “The American Law of Medical Malpractice.”
